SHORT ROUND & BROWN… ONE WOMAN. PLUS.
Oklahoma City actress Cristela Carrizales will present an evening of music and musing in her one-woman show “Short, Round, & Brown,” that will run September 9, 10, & 11th at 8pm at Ghostlight Theatre Club (3110 N. Walker, OKC). Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by calling (405) 355-3258 or e-mailing cristela.carrizales@gmail.com.
Best known for her roles in Ghostlight’s productions of “[title of show]” and “Fat Pig” for which she was cited by The Oklahoma Gazette’s Larry Laneer as having delivered one of the year’s most outstanding performances by an actress. Carrizales has also received raves for her unscripted work with the improvisational comedy troupes, “The Ones Your Mother Warned You About,” “The MiDolls,” and “Villain: The Musical”
Structured around her personal stories as an actress and as woman, “Short, Round & Brown” is an evening of songs from characters in musicals that Carrizales believes she’ll never be cast in because she is either, “too short, and/or too round, and/or too brown.” Joining her on stage will be other Ghostlight performers Emily Etherton, Rachel Bouton and Scott Hynes with Steve Kennedy on piano.
